OUR EXPERT REVIEW

Why We Like It

Looking for a travel card that can be used for more than just a vacation? The Wells Fargo Autograph® Card can seamlessly fit into anyone's wallet thanks to its numerous point opportunities. Earn unlimited 3X points on restaurants, travel, gas stations, transit, popular streaming services and phone plans. Plus earn 1X points on other purchases. Additionally, this card offers a strong welcome bonus: Earn 20,000 bonus points when you spend $1,000 in purchases in the first 3 months - that's a $200 cash redemption value.

We weren't kidding when we said this card has "numerous point opportunities"! The reward points are redeemable for travel, gift cards, statement credits, or even online stores when you checkout with PayPal. The benefits do not stop with points. Get up to $600 of cell phone protection against damage or theft. Subject to a $25 deductible.

As a cherry on top, this card comes with no annual fee and 0% intro APR for 12 months from account opening on purchases (18.49%, 24.49%, or 28.49% Variable APR thereafter), effectively making it a great option for travelers or anyone looking to earn points on everyday purchases.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • No cap on the 3X Points categories
  • Enjoy up to $600 of cell phone protection
  • Enjoy all these perks while paying no annual fee for card membership

Cons

  • No intro APR for balance transfers
  • There is an ongoing balance transfer fee

Pros Explained

  • No cap on the 3X Points categories: You can earn unlimited 3X Points in these categories, which could mean huge rewards if you spend a lot in them.
  • Enjoy up to $600 of cell phone protection: Cardholders can get up to $600 of cell phone protection against damage or theft. Subject to a $25 deductible.
  • Pay no annual fee: Most top travel credit cards have hefty annual fees that make them less attainable. That is not the case here with the Wells Fargo Autograph® Card.

Cons Explained

  • No intro APR for balance transfers: Many cards that offer an Intro APR for purchases will also offer one for balance transfers, but seeing as this card is geared towards being a travel credit card, this is an understandable exclusion.
  • Ongoing balance transfer fee: This fee is 3% intro for 120 days from account opening, then up to 5%, min: $5. While we would not necessarily recommend using this card for balance transfers, it still has the capabilities to do so even though there is a fee.
